I won this book through the First Reads Giveaway.
I've read thousands of books, but this was my first western. The Gunsmith's Gallantry was a very easy read - except for the very beginning. There are around 20 characters that you have to get to know and remember in a very short time. It was a little confusing at first trying to remember who owned what shop and who was where when certain things were happening because Susan Page Davis just throws you right into the story. I loved the way things are described, I could almost hear the stagecoach heading into town and the wind blowing dirt across the street. All in all it was a very wholesome and innocent book.
