I think that this series has gotten a bad wrap. Just because a book is easy to read doesn't mean that it's crap. I've read a lot of books that are in the YA category and the author talks down to the readers like we're idiots. That was not the case with Marked. I thought that the writing felt authentic and fun.
This was by no means a deep book ... everything was pretty much on the surface with the conflicts and the struggles within the story line. But I think that the Cast ladies were just setting the stage for what is to come. I have high hopes for the rest of the House of Night series. If it is anything like the first one, I'm in!
Onto the next one!
