I had some mixed feelings when I started this book. I really didn't know what to expect and I'm not ashamed to say that I was a little confused.
I thought that when the main character was talking about her father being Death ... I didn't take it as a literal statement. I thought it was just figuratively since the man who raised her was so horrible. But no, it's literal.
After a couple of chapters, I became more used to it, but it was still kinda strange. When people talk about God(s), I always think of a spiritual being and not someone in the flesh. And that is my hang-up, not the authors'.
That whole God(s) thing was really my only issue with the book. It was very well written, captivating and addictive. I loved the characters and the plot, definitely something I'll read again. I'm excited for the next installment!
